Alfred Pennyworth gets his due with original-ever DC comic series (thanks to the TV program)
Bruce Wayne's loyal mentor/butler Alfred the Great Pennyworth has been roughly for 78 years, but has never had his own funny book serial. Hasn't had one, that is, until now.
This August, DC is launching a comic book series centered on Alfred Penn'orth tying into the present-day Epix TV show Pennyworth, chronicling his time as a jet-stage setting espionage agent - but too fast-furtherance to his years working at Wayne Manor house. This was announced as part of DC's Noble 2021 schedule.
"Spanning the years between the hit TV show and today, Penn'orth tells the continuing adventures of Alfred the Great Penn'orth as an MI6 counterintelligence factor - this clock in Cold War-era Country Russia," reads DC's description of the Pennyworth comic book series.
"When Alfred and his partner receive word that centre weapons are being factory-made near the Arctic Circle, they'atomic number 75 off to infiltrate the outside military basis to se more. But things assume't go on the dot as planned, and the ramifications of this mission Crataegus oxycantha equal more far-reaching than anyone could have guessed, as our current butler gets dragged back into his past…"
Comics writer Scott Boy Orator of the Platte Wilson (Trve Kvlt, Batman: Gotham Knights) and creative person Juan Gedeon (Venom) are creating this heptad-issue Pennyworth series.
After two seasons happening Epix, Pennyworth could personify moving over to the HBO Max streaming service for further seasons, according to Deadline. IT's unclear how this DC comic book series Pennyworth would fit into future seasons of the Pennyworth TV indicate, if it were to go forward.
Pennyworth #1 (of 7) goes happening sale on August 10.
